Leaving Spirit is an independent band from Würzburg known for their handmade rock music rooted in blues, rock, and country.

The band's visual identity was established with the creation of three album covers, a logo, several T-shirt designs, and an animated music video.

The designs were heavily influenced by the American South, the birthplace of the genre and an important source of inspiration for the band.

A central design element is the visual interpretation of individual song lyrics; the illustrations feature motifs or details that directly reference the lyrics of each album. This creates a strong thematic connection between image and music.

For the third album cover, we took a new visual approach. Set against the backdrop of Austin, Texas, comic-style cactus characters take center stage, each representing a band member. These figures add a personal, tongue-in-cheek touch to the artwork, setting it apart from other album covers in the genre.
