The Shadow

The Shadow

The Shadow is a poster series I created during my sixth semester of studies. It was developed under the overarching theme of "Monsters."

In this project, the term "The Shadow" is drawn from the depth psychology of Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. The shadow represents the aspects of ourselves that we repress or deny: parts of our personality that we consider undesirable, shameful, or unacceptable.

The shadow often manifests as emotions such as envy, greed, and aggression – feelings similar to the seven deadly sins. This is why the two concepts were combined in this project.

The result is a series of eight DIN A2 posters: one for each deadly sin and one introducing the concept of the shadow. The sketch-like illustrations, done in a comic noir style, are combined with text from various analog and digital media sources.
